The VCT belongs to the VCX. When you recompile the VCX, the VCT also gets recompiled.

It's not unusual that the VCT grows. You just have to clean it up regularly.

In your case, it looks like the VCT is simply damaged. You can try using a tool such as FoxFix to resolve the problem.
