Maybe I can try subclassing the DateEnvironment, but I am sure that
would work.

My purpose here is to load information from tables into
a custom FormManager object.

I could always open the necessary tables outside the object
and close them after the object is instantiated, but I was
looking for a cleaner way of doing this...
