Probably by not allowing 2-digit date entry. In some cases this makes sense (One of my customers is a state agency that needs to enter all birth records going back well over 100 years. They wanted to force 4 digit date entry) but there are a lot of situations where you would never need to enter a date outside the 100 year window. Unfortunately, large organizations often want hard and fast rules and don't want to take the time to evaluate each situation. Bruce might be stuck forcing his users to enter 4 digit years when they really don't need to.
