37,000 records (3.4 Meg) is a very small amount of data as far as I'm concerned. I typically deal with data sources exceeding 700 Meg with millions of records. We do a lot of middle tier data processing using VFP COM servers connected to remote data sources. Some of these servers are launched by user requests via intranet and they return the resulting data set after processing. This reduces the segmented network load as well as the client machine's hardware requirements.
