Bob, I have 2 databases, one for CBMM tables and views (called cmm.dbc) and one for application specific tables and views. id.dbf is contained in the same database of users.dbf and I can login into the application without problems (so users.dbf was opened). The only difference is that id.dbf is opened inside NewId() using a USE statement and if the directory where the file is located is not in the path (although the DBC is opened) ==> ERROR. One more thing, if it´s executing NewId(), the database container is opened since NewId() is inside the DBC.
