Jim,

Thank you for the thought. I guess I would go ahead with VFP6 default framework. I'd seen how VPM handles users' security or previlege, and I like this feature to be in my app, at the same time, I don't like the way VPM handle most of the works in a not-so-OOP way. It is not possible to employ both frameworks in my app. What would you recommend if one found he/she needs only one feature in (the extreme case) each of every commercial framework available in the market? What should he/she do in order to have them all?

Thanks again,
juan

>The short answer is no, you don't need another framework.

>The longer answer is that frameworks are each designed to excel in certain areas. The VFP6 framework is designed to do a fair job on a variety of applications. It supports read events, non-read events (sub apps), and developer tools creation. It is quite complex in supporting all of these varied types of applications.

>Each of the commercial frameworks is excellent in their own areas. Selecting a framework is like choosing your clothes, it should meet your specific requirements. Your requirements are not exactly the same as anyone else's. This fact makes it difficult to select the BEST framework for yurself, as the advice of others is not all that helpful in making the choice.

>My advice is to build an app using the VFP6 framework and then evaluate the commercial frameowrks to see if they have features that you wished the VFP one did. You willl also be equiped to determine what you need and don't need in the framework that you want.

>When you add it all up $500 is not a lot of money for a framework that will reduce your development time and improve the quality of your results.
