Thanks for explaining. Before I would just put the validation code before calculating a total. If it failed I would say NODEFAULT and This.Setfocus. I guess it saves these two steps, and puts the validation code in a logical spot (the valid event). Thanks again, but do you know how to effect that wait window? Otherwise I will have to go back to the lostfocus, where there is no 'helpful' VFP wait window created.
