That is prety much what I meant. From what I've read here, JVP is a highly skilled developer, with a slew of credentials in his .sig. The fact that he and I have been of differing sides of several issues (although not always opposite sides, just a difference of opinion) does not diminish my regard for his abilities. He's good, and I know it.

The fact is, I have never read any of his books, never heard him speak at a conference (mostly because I don't go to them), and really had not objective criteria to judge his skills as a presenter. I just wanted some opinions from those who saw him speak.

I'm reminded of the old adage, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, teach phys ed." :)
