Thanks for the response. It appears to work fine. The data I require is available when I "set the datasession to formname.datasessionid" from the .prg.
I had copied the command incorrectly from page 457 in the Developer's Guide.
I now can use VBA to access Word and insert the name/address data from the table in the forms DE.

BUT what have I done? The manual states that 'forms' run in individual datasessions. Executing the 'set' command dosen't change the datasession the form is running in. Does it change the datadession the .prg is running in and does that mean that every .prg and/or every table running/opened (from the menu, not in a form)uses it's on datasession? I guess so.

I'll look into Sylvain's suggestion also but the user will be printing names/addresses from more that one form (Client, Patient, Employee, etc.) so I would have to create menthods in each form. It still may be practical because the .prg will have to determine which form was present when it was called in order to which variable to use ie Emp_last or Cli_last etc.
