Just adding to what Edward and Josh have already told you, because it is often the next question...

the 2-gig limit applies to a single table only and the .FPT and the .CDX can be 2-gigs each too (there is some special case where a .CDX may have a 1-gig limit, but I do not remember cirvumstances).

So you could have several tables with lots indexed in each and with lots of MEMO field data, *each* one which can be 2-gigs in size.
