Is there a way to do a live update of a VFP application using the Internet. I have seen this done in Norton Utilities and Norton Antivirus and also Turbo Tax.

I have sucessfully used MABRY FTP active X control in an app to move files to and from an FTP site. I would like to use it to check on an FTP site for a file, then download it if it is a more recent version.

Then replace the VFP exe file... Unfortunately the VFP app is in memory and cannot be replaced. I have thought of two alternatives.

1. Somehow get VFP to run a command after it exits? which would copy the new EXE over the old one. Is this possible??

2. Have a shell program (EXE) which calls another DLL, EXE or ?? COM file. Then the shell could download the new DLL, EXE or COM file?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
