Record not available message
Our company uses an NT server, with several Win 95/98 workstations and one 3.11 workstation. We are slowly replacing the older machines. We have come across the fast Pentium issue with the first three 350 machines we got. The upgrade to 2.6a and then the DZpatch seems to have worked. We just added two more, the only difference in the most recent machines seems to be more memory. We now have a new problem different than the divide by zero. These new machines are locking others out of dbfs on the server. The user that freezes in fox gets the message"Record not available" scrolling in the task bar. As soon as one of the new machines quits out of fox the frozen machine continues on its way. The new machine will also sometimes try to write to an spr generating a "file write error" during an update to a dbf.
When there is a file write error the resource monitor on the server shows that the only files in use by that machine is the one it is trying to write to. All the previously open dbfs appear to be closed and any other file that was open is not listed. Any clues??
Very much in the dark... Barbara Kennedy
