It is possible, but not likey due to all the potential problems, both in versioning and some performance. This has been considered in the past, and there is a great deal of shared code, etc. but I really can't get into the details. I will say that if you send in an ER for this and describe why you feel it's important, it will be considered. It's likely that other things have a higher priority.
