>Does any body know or have a vcx that i can include in my application to send faxes to a specific fax number strait from my application without having to go trhough a third party application. can anybody telme where can i find it or buy it for cheap....i wold appreciate it

Unfortunately, there's no built-in fax capability in Windows; at some level, you have to go through some sort of third-party software that handles the modem interface and formatting the output. Something has to handle the job, and it's going to take something more than just a VFP .VCX

I take it that you found my first suggestion (WinFax Pro) to be unpalatable for some reason. You are not going to find something that costs significantly less than WinFax with all the same capabilities. Cetin suggested another, but it's not free, either.

If you're dealing exclusively with Win95, there's a very limited fax interface available through the MS Exchange Client that comes with Win95. The fax component is not included in Windows NT or Windows 98, and it requires at least partical installation of Exchange to make it available. I have not had a great deal of success with it.

If you can ensure that all your client sites have a MAPI-enabled fax component installed, you have the option of using MAPI to create faxes. It's a non-trivial project to set up, and from my experience, using a DDE or OLE interface to a package like WinFax or BitFax will save you more than he cost of the software, especially since it lets you support a single, uniform interface regardless of the hardware or operating system version in use. WinFax costs <$100 (as I mentioned, there's a $50 rebate, so you can pick it up for essentially $50/copy at a retail outlet like Staples), BitFax is even less.
