You're right, Jim. I should have been mode exact with my posting. Thanks for the clarification.

I guess referring to it as a null date is a holdover from our 2.x apps. We had a global variable named gdNullDate defined as {}. Whenever I think about an empty date, that variable name pops into my head. Of course, in those days we didn't have the concept of NULL yet.
