Changed the video display and that did not help. You were right about the explorer message when changing the extension, it was in the lower right corner. Restarted the machine and it is good to go. I had not previously done anything with my display. Wonder what that was all about?

Thanks for your help.

Even the VFP messageboxes are in the lower right corner. Have closed and reopened VFP and still the messageboxes are not centered. What is up with that?

>>>VFP's messagebox is only a wrapper around Windows' Messagebox function... do your other applications give mislocated messages too?

>>No. Appears that my other windows applications are ok. Tried to open a document in Word 97 that was already opened. Got the message "Do you want to revert to the saved .....". It was centered. In VFP 6.0 when I go to build the executable, the message "this file already exists. replace existing file?" is in the lower right corner.

>Word is probably a bad test, because many of its messages are forms internally. Change a file's extension in Explorer, and note where the messagebox ("are you sure you want to change the extension?") comes up.

>BTW, the only time I have ever seen this happen was when there was a recent screen resolution change, and something went haywire with the display.
