Your best bet is to use the MSCOMM32.OCX ActiveX control; you may have the ability to use it with the OnComm events by using the new VFPCOM.DLL to handle binding the external events. There are good examples of using the MSCOMM32 control in the MSDN in VB; the transition to VFP from VB is fairly straightforward.
