Hi Mo -
The company I work for wanted to implement Active Doc technology into a current application we are working on, so that our app could run in the browser and have other members of our development team, besides myself, utilized the app. Due to that fact, I posted many questions on UT, as well as talked to some developers via email that told me not to implement Active Docs into my project.
I was told by one developer in particular, who works for Microsoft FoxPro developemnt team, that Active Docs are outdated technology that will not be continued in later versions of FoxPro. I was curious as to why there were no sessions at DevCon 99 dedicated to Active Docs, and was told, there is a reason for that...... it is outdated technology.
I am just passing along what I have heard. I have talked to others that have implemented it successfully, and it works fine for their needs. However, it appears that Microsoft and those developing future versions are not going to use this technology. Our company hasn't implemented Active Docs, because of the warnings from those in the know!
I hope this helps
Jason
