2 simple questions re: mail merge datasources
I am trying to put together an automated Word7 mail merge from VFP.
(1) When setting up my header and data source as a text file, Word displays a dialog from which the user specifies the appropriate field and record delimiters. Since this is an automated mail merge (and the user probably doesn't know anything about what delimiters to choose) is there a way to programmatically specify these delimiters in order to avoid this dialog?
(2) I also tried to set up my datasource using ODBC. Even though the VFP ODBC driver is installed and I have datasource that is based on the ODBC driver, the available data types in Word appear to remain as the default datasource types, ie. Text, Excel, Access, RTf etc. No DBF file. What am i doing wrong?
