I have had this happen before. The only way that I could rid of the "extra" record was to delete it, undelete it, and then delete it again. Sounds wierd I know, but it worked for me. Also, if the table has any indxes on it, the indexes could be out of sync. Try rebuilding the indexes (not just reindexing as that's not the same thing) if the delete thing doesn't work. Good luck!!!
