Hi Vlad,
Thanks for the suggestion, but trapping error 1733 will not work in this case because if the form fails to instantiate for any reason at all, 1733 is returned. I need to know when the form fails to instantiate because of a missing activeX registration.
My intended logic is as follows:

IF the form does not instantiate (1733 detected)
check if all the activeX controls on the form are registered
if any is not registered, register it (if possible)
ENDIF the form does not instantiate

So I still need to determine if a given ActiveX control is registered...

I will need to register and possibly unregister OCXs, so I am interested in your functions. I've never used the FAQ here--how do I find your functions?
