Well, he made some valuable contributions, too, so we'll grant some mercy this time :) But the fact that the base table had a date field, and DTOC made the cursor character date appear as a genuine date really through me off track...it was only when I started getting report errors when trying date conversion that I caught on...but next time I'll do a TYPE() on the darn field first thing :)
