My company is currently developing an application using text to speech technology. We use Microsoft's Active X control (SAPI - look on the MSDN) it was originally written for VB and VC++ but it can work on VFP as well. There are a few gotchas though, It can only work with objects, ie the base VFP menu wont work because it's not an object as such. We are trying out the Activebar control from datadynamics to see if we can get aroung this problem. Dialogs are another problem, that at this stage we think that we need api calls, because like all good programmers we don't want to reinvent the wheel.
