Hi Vlad,
Ok, I see what you're saying. But I have a different design. If I check the activex controls before instantiating the form, the user gets a hit each time the form is instantiated. Instead, I try to instantiate the form first. If all the activex controls are registered (and most of the time they will be), then there's no performance hit. In my design, it is only necessary to check if the controls are registered (and take the resulting performance hit) when the form fails to instantiate. That's why I have to instantiate the form first and check the controls afterwards.
