>FPW26 crashes on the new computer. Can't even get it to open.

Hi Trish,

I am not sure why you are having this problem. If you copy your entire FPW2.6 directory from the first computer (WIN95) where it works fine to the second computer (WIN98?), you should be able to double click on the Foxpro.exe and FPW should run. After FPW is running, you can open your project, rebuild your application, etc.

I have a network and copy my entire FPW 2.6 directory to a second computer as a backup. It works on my second computer with no problem. For what it is worth, I copy from the same directory on the first computer to the same directory on the second computer, that way I don't have any path issues in my projects.

I use PCAnywhere 8.0 to upgrade clients. Once connected to the client's machine, I have never had any problems transferring data and getting the application to run. If your problem does happen to be data transfer, make sure you have the most recent updates to PCAnywhere; I think there are two on their web site. One question, when you have the two computers connected, can you remotely control the host machine, i.e., control the computer from your first computer, see the second computer's screen, icons, etc. Can you open wordpad and write a note? I am just trying to see if you are getting a good connection with PCAnywhere.

If your WIN98 machine is a fast PII, you may need to apply the patch to fix the divide by zero error. There are several references and threads discussing this issue.

I hope some of this helps,

TFISHER
