Accessing VFP Middle-tier data
OK, this may sound dumb, but:
With VFP as the middle tier, pulling Selects into a local cursor (as per Jim Booth's example), how does the front end (assuming it is not VFP) get at a table?
Jim's example, and the example on the MS site, both detailed passing *single* records as parameters. This is fine. It's also fine when I'm writing the front end, cuz of course I'd do it in VFP.
But the whole point in doing a middle tier would be to work with other divisions in the company who think VB is the only language on Earth. How do I give them access to the data in tabular format?
Luckily, there is no real time pressure here, I have the unusual luxury of being able to plan this out thoroughly while still doing single-tier VFP stuff, but I would like to have my ducks in a row.
As always, TIA...
