Well, further discussion has revealed some interesting details... isn't that always the case :)
What we want is to write a program in VFP which does the following:
- When the user clicks "Dial", dial numbers from our database
- If it's a no-answer, busy, operator interrupt, etc... hang up and dial the next #
- when a live person answers, connect the call to the sales operator
- When the operator finishes, she hangs up and clicks "Dial" to start the process again
We'll have operators sitting at 12 PCs, each with it's own modem. The application will run locally and interface with the local modem. It will read numbers from tables on the server.
I'm thinking I have three ways to go with this.
1) I can use VFPs built in Comm Port handling
2) I can use the 3rd party CommTools
3) I can use the MSComm32 ActiveX control
I have not used any of these options in the past and ANY help is greatly appreciated!
TIA
