I believe that in order to do that, I have to place the ocx file into the appropriate subdirectory. So I need to know which is the appropriate subdirectory--System or System32. It's confusing because there are ocx's in both.

Chaim:

This is one of the things i've been meaing to do as well but haven't gotten around to yet...

I noticed that if you use the component gallery that you can load a list of the currently registered active-x controls on a workstation.

So when i have a chance, (or when hell freezes over!), I'm going to take apart the code (which comes with VFP now!) and see how they "walk the registry" to get the registered controls from it.

It's in your \program files\microsoft visual studio\vfp98\gallery directory within the Vfpglry.vcx class library.

If you (or anyone else) get a chance to dig though the code please post something usefull for the rest of us to play with as well.
