I've been wondering about this. A "service pack" usually contains mostly bug fixes. Sometimes they sneak in a couple of little goodies, but this sounds like much more than that. It's clearly not going to be a full new release as MS has made it clear that the next one will be part of the next VS version which won't be out until at least next year. 6.something seems to make the most sense.
