To unload with a command button, I place ThisForm.QueryUnload in the click of the button. Try tracing your code with the debugger. If you are not using private DataSessions, you may be getting an error when the form loads the second time. I accidentaly had a child form using a Default DS which resulted in that form using the parent form's private DS. When the second form closed, some tables used by both forms were closed by the second form causing all sorts of errors.
