I'll say. I found an interesting tidbit on Rick Strahl's website. You can actually use a table across the internet by doing something like this:
Use \\www.mywebserver.com\d$\data\mytable. This works great when using an NT workstation, but for Windows 9x you have to have an LMHOSTS file on the client I'm told. I'm still trying to get information on what the lmlhosts file should look like. Performance isn't bad at all for small tables (under 10k records.) For a small shop, I think it may have some possibilities.
