I got a request to fill out a y2k form for a college study. VFP was listed on the form as a tool that could have been used.
I replied back to the author, commenting that I was pleased to see VFP listed on his survey. Here is his reply:
Hi,
Thanks for your mail and for inputs to my survey. Our school we use VB6.0 for intro. to progrmg. and Windows progrmg. And Java (some use J++) for OO progrmg. I had done FoxPro -I don’t know how long ago-during DOS days. For the database course, Oracle is being used here. I think VB, VC++, and Java (in that order) are popular around here (at least among students). Hopefully, visual FoxPro lives longer, forever. Later.
So we need to try to get the local Universities to re-evaluate their tool sets. How do they / would they pay attention to us is a paramont problem.
I have left out their reply to data becuase they don't need to get flamed.
