VFP6, Sybase System 11 Version 3.01.0000, P2-350, 64meg, Win95, Novell network, Intranetware client

I open the view designer and attempt to create a remote p-view on a table. After I select the table and hit the Add button it takes several minutes before the table shows up in the design surface. The table has 1.1 million rows of six 32bit integer columns. If I add tables that do not have large row counts it's nearly instantaneous.

The same slowdown is experienced if I try to create the view in code, so it's not just the VD. Running SQLExec() against the table also performs very fast.

Is there something wrong with the environment or VFP or Sybase that is causing this annoyance?
