>Does anyone know how you go about setting up an LMHOSTS file on a Windows 95/98 box so that you can access an NT Server over the internet. From an NT Workstation I can go to a command prompt and issue net use * \\www.mydomain.com\c$\data\ and it will map a drive. I can also, from within VFP, issue use \\www.mydomain.com\d$\data\mytable and within about 10 seconds actually have the table opened accross the internet. On small tables (under 10k records) it's not too bad. I would like to be able to do this under Win 95/98 as well though.

Oh..missed something in your message... you can do it on your NT Workstation, is your NT using have a DNS server set up? You can point your Win 95 machine to the same server. Win95 will look in hosts first then the DNS server.

If NT doesn't have a DNS server set up, see if it has a HOSTS file, and copt it to the Win95 machine. The HOST file on NT can be found in windows\system32\etc
