Cetin -- Hi. How are you?

I read your last post and want to answer questions to some of your thoughts.

1. I do have a "distinct" statement in my SQL. When I went to the Misc. tab in the view designer and selected "no duplicates" and chose the number of records on the spinner, the code was automatically written in the SQL statment by Fox. What a joy it was to do something visaully!! No coding!

2. My employer said the same thing you said in your message -- about Access. Whenever I go to him with a problem/concern and tell him I haven't been able to get something accomplished, he says "Access can do that, so I know for certian FoxPro can!"

3. I read your thoughts concerning making modifications to the design of the search form and think I am going to keep things the way they are. It isn't b/c I am afraid of messing up a working form, b/c I have tortured myself more than once making changes to this form and others.

Here is the reason>

Over the past two days, my employer and myself sat down and said the same thing you said. Why do we have the district combo box come before the office_title? He didn't want to have everything hinge on a district..... especially when some offices do not have an associated district. He wanted a user to get to an office first, and then select a district to pinpoint the exact office (if one exists).

As it stands now, the form is designed exactly the way we layed it out on paper in our brainstorming session two days ago. So, I think at this stage of the game I will leave it alone. We are way behind on the development of this project and time is our enemy. I have spent 3+ weeks to get this form to work the way we want I am slow, but dedicated and persistant!

4. How do I set multilocks on, set exclusive off?

I can do that in the command window each time I open the database, but there must be a place where I can write this piece of code and have it done automatically. Do you know where I would write this piece of code?

5. I will do my best to send you my search form, via zip. I would sure love for you to see it. I just have to figure out how to accomplish that. I have to download "winzip" or something to zip the files so I can send them. It might take me a few days, but I would like to show you what you helped create!.

Thanks for the advice and guidance Cetin

Talk to you later
