Does anyone use WinZip to compress text files in VFP program? What is your experience with this type of thing?

In one of my program, I create multiple (about 400+) text files, append data to each, zip each, and then FTP them to our IIS server so it can be downloaded via the Internet. However, it seems like there's a memory leak somewhere, and I'm not quite sure if it's WinZip. Everytime I run this module, it tends to lock up my machine. Does anyone know of a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?
