background:
I HAVE A SYSTEM RUNNING ON MY SERVER: THE DATABASE IS ON THE SERVER.
15 users, i have a project which contains all the forms and the databases and i compile form this project.

problem:
however when i need to compile no users can be on the system because the project needs exclusive use of the files , which means that my users have to logout each time we need to upgrade the exe.

i would like to create a copy of my system on a separate directory and compile it and just copy the exe to my live folder. however when i move the project all cursors in the dataenvironment of my forms will start looking at the new development folder instead of the live folder where the real data is ?

what i am looking for : is there a way i can create and compile on one specific directory and then make the dataenvironment of the forms still look at the write folder.
