Hi Bret,
Been a while since I used PhDbase but I believe there is
an option when you create the phdbase index to include
the quotes plus other non-alphabetic characters (but I
could be wrong). You can then try a search with '5"54'
as search value. Also try the square brackets inplace
of the single quotes
