It depends on how big are your BMPs and how many do you have. There are always advantages and ... The big advantage is that you're always sure your BMPs are there all the time. Which is not true anymore since I found out about this bug. :(
Anyway, if you need those BMPs, you have to load them. And it's faster if they are in your exe. Of course, you'll not include big BMPs if they are not often used.
