I'm a little bit confused here, are you porting your FPD app to FPW or VFP? If converting to FPW, a simple fondation READ will do. If converting to VFP, AFAIK, there's no way of activating the menu without a READ EVENTS.

If I SET SYSMENU AUTOMATIC, DEFINE all the popups as being in _MSYSMENU and then ACTIVATE it, that works. Now, I need to give the focus to and take it away from the screen controls without using READ EVENTS, or at least without using more than one level of it.
