You are totally correct to assume it is with the drivers for the printer and video cards.

I have spoken to Microsoft on this issue and there are many problems with certain printers. One big one is HP. Practically all HP drivers have a memory leak. Also the screen resolution for the video card does affect the preview. I have noticed this and explained to our clients that it is an issue with Microsoft and not the actual product.
