Thanks for the suggestions but after checking for what you mentioned the new controls still didn't work. I think it may be something wronge in the scx because I have copied the controls to a new form and they all work fine now. I still would like to know what happened though, so as to avoid it in the future.


>There are a number of possibilities here. Do the original controls include the alias in the control source and the new controls don't? Are the new controls based on the same classes as the original controls? Are you using a framework that expects controls to be based on certain classes?
