>Does anyone know the best way to create *small* .wav files, from human voice recordings (like 4-5 spoken sentences). So how is this related to Foxpro? Welllll... it's not really, we're storing data, including .wav file names, to create web pages in fox tables, is that close enough? The problem is that the people doing the .wav file creation are using the sound recorder from Win98 and the files seem huge! I asked this question elsewhere but didn't get very good results. Is there a way to compress, or is there a better recorder (downloadable?) that makes the files smaller? Although not exactly a fox question I hope someone can give me some ideas.

There's no way to compress a .wav file and still have it play. You could ZIP it, or use another format (MP3 comes to mind)
