Richard is right, but he is also wrong. Harking back to the original definitions of OOP (as in SmallTalk), defining a property and a handler for it constitutes raising and event and handling that meets all of the OOP definitions of event-raising and handling. The fact that VFP cannot raise specific kinds of events is at most ho-hum.

This business of "my event raising is better than your event raising" is a useless debate. Again, both languages have their place and can do work. I like VFP because it can do a lot of work in a big hurry. But I do not think it necessary to put down the other guy's favorite language just because it is not my favorite. Nothing is served by this kind of debate. No one's mind is changed.

In fact, I'm sorry I inserted my 2 cents in the first place -- so I'm outta here.
