I'm glad that the local/private got cleared up as I had it backwards.
Since we are more and more using properties that are scoped to the objects that contain them, I am seeing less value to scoping conventions.
I am toying with the idea of putting the variable type on the end of variables/properties because the words that result seem more object oriented with the object description being emphasized rather than the data type.
