I'll have to agree with you, Evan. I think it's should be seen as a method for finding
potential problems. It's up to the developer then to be sure that all the date fields that are "flagged" are actually being processed correctly. For a large database, it might actually be handy in case you, as the developer, have forgotten to check a table or two for date fields.
