I've been busy lately and just saw this thread. I have a nice query/view builder that is part of my framework. Some time ago I asked for volunteers to debug it without much success. It works well, and has some runtime options to allow output to word, excel, all file formats supported by vfp and other things. Allows queries to be saved as .qpr and I haven't had problems with join complexities so far. I have even added a "debug" option to help with the optimization of queries. It looks very much like the built in query builder with all the drag and drop functionalities. I just tried to leave the bugs out.
As a matter of fact, I use eView in conjunction with my builder and the combination is great. Are you interested in giving it a try? The version that I feel more confident with is written in 5.0 but I could bring the 6.0 one up in a couple of days.

>Would be a nice feature, huh? That would be a pretty major undertaking. Building a fields picker would be no big deal, but allowing the user to set joins and having the program intelligently lay them out in correct ANSI format is something I don't know if I'm ready to try to tackle. I would be really interested to see if somebody has written a good SQL builder in VFP that actually constructs ANSI JOIN clauses correctly. I'm sure it can be done, and probably has. I'm also open to collaboration offers...
