Was it Gonz or you mentioning WordStar keystrokes yesterday? I remember it printed bold by issuing a CR without a LF and then reprinted the whole line. So underlining may go the same way - print the line, send a CR without a LF and print the underscores where necessary. It could be somewhat tricky, but... it should work on any damn old printer, including daisy wheel.
