>Is there an example of a program that stores indexes in tables. I want to build a table which I can use to rebuild indexes by first deleting then and then recreating them. What does that do to the DBC? Any information appreciated.

There is a Public Domain metadata/data dictionary standard available called DBCX2.. DBCX2 is not only a published spec, but also contains the DBCXMgr class that allows you to maintain and access the meta data. One thing you can keep in the metadata is the information needed to re-biuld the keys.

Check out www.stonefield.com for an article and classed for DBCX2.
