>In Foxpro for Dos one could divide a printed page into several by using chr(27) and then specifying the no. of lines per page. E.g. for printing in pre-printed forms, one could set the lines to 36 and print iin 2 half pages. Windows does not respect Chr(27) sequences. Any idea whether the old trick is possible under foxpro 2.6 and vfp versions?

CHR(27) is an Escape character; I suspect that you were manipulating the print codes directly, without Windows intervening.

You can accomplish pretty much the same thing using the printer as a generic/text printer drive, and then sending the print codes directly to the printer, wither by including tghe in fields in a report, or using the ?/??/??? commands directed to the printer.
